Who we are
Up-Close LLC is a small company focused on sharing stories and inspiration about nature adventures. Our website is just a place to read articles and get ideas for trips. We are based at 601 SE Wyoming Blvd, Casper, WY 82609, US. You can reach us anytime at [email protected] or by phone +1 307-237-2813 if something in this policy needs explaining.
What information we collect
When you visit our site we automatically get some basic stuff like your IP address, browser type, what pages you look at, how long you stay and roughly where you are from. This helps us see which articles people like and keep the site running smooth. We don't ask for your name or email unless you decide to send us a message through the contact form. If you write to us we keep your email and whatever you wrote so we can reply. That's it, no fancy tracking, no selling anything.
How we use the information
Everything we collect stays simple. The automatic data like IP and browsing helps us improve the site, fix bugs and understand what content works best. If you send us an email we use your details only to answer you, maybe ask a follow-up question about your travel idea. We never use your info for marketing emails because we don't even have a newsletter. No ads on the site either, so no need to profile you or target anything.
Cookies and similar things
We use a few small cookies to make the site work better, like remembering if you switched to dark mode or what language you picked if we ever add more. Nothing that follows you around the internet. Some are session cookies that disappear when you close the browser. You can always turn cookies off in your browser settings but parts of the site might act a little weird then. We don't use any third-party trackers or analytics that share data with big companies.
Sharing your information
We don't share it. Period. The only time anything might leave our hands is if the law forces us, like a court order, or if we need to protect our rights in some legal mess. We don't sell lists, don't give data to advertisers, don't partner with data brokers. If we ever use a basic service like email hosting or website host they might see technical stuff but only to keep things running and they have strict rules not to misuse it.
How long we keep your data
Automatic logs like IP and page views we keep for about twelve months then delete. If you email us we hold the conversation for as long as it makes sense to help you, usually up to two years, then we delete it unless there's some legal reason to keep it longer. We don't build profiles or keep forever.
Your rights
You have the right to know what we have about you, to ask us to delete it or correct it if something is wrong. Just email [email protected] and tell us what you want. Because we collect so little it usually takes us only a few days to handle. If you're in a place with strong privacy laws like Europe we follow those rules too and you can complain to your local data authority if you think we messed up.
Security
We try to keep everything safe. The site uses standard encryption, we limit who on our team can see any personal messages and we don't store credit card info or anything financial because we don't sell trips directly. Still, no system is perfect so we can't promise absolute security but we do what reasonable small company can do.
Changes to this policy
If we ever need to update this policy we will post the new version here with the date on top. We might send a note on the homepage if the changes are big. Keep an eye on this page from time to time. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
